Scott Barradell

PGA Professional I Director of Golf I Head of Instruction and Club Fitting

Scott Barradell comes to Eastern after spending 14 years as the Head Golf Professional at the Northern GC . He has played the game since the age of 11 and was a member at Bacchus Marsh in his junior days winning two club championships and two junior championships. After completing a year of a computer/science degree, he decided to pursue a career in golf and joined Riversdale GC to pursue that dream.  Whilst there, his highlight was beating the well known Sam Newman in the final of the Club Championships 10/9 over 36 holes – the greatest margin seen in the event to this day.

Shortly after, he completed his traineeship at Elcho Park in Geelong and finally at Riversdale winning 10 events in his three years and graduating with a State invite for playing each year. At the age 24, he took the Head Professional role at Bairnsdale Golf Club staying there for four years before moving back to Melbourne and starting his role at Northern.

His area of expertise is no doubt in coaching and club fitting. His mentors include Dale Lynch and Steve Bann – both former VIS coaches and he focuses a lot on simple game improvement areas rather than big technical changes. With  20+ years of experience in this area, he is highly regarded as being one of Victoria’s best all round club professionals.

He is a qualified Taylor Made, Callaway, Titleist and Mizuno fitter and is experienced and certified with both Trackman and Flightscope launch monitor data. He is a regular attendee of the US golf show in Orlando/

“I feel that over the years I have developed my skills to a level where I can work easily with players of all abilities and ages. I believe that your body will dictate what we can do with your golf swing and from which I can assess and build a swing that you can physically achieve and repeat – I coach the player not a swing model. I love what I do and feel privileged doing my job as a golf instructor and mentor.”
